Today have been quite an interesting day, especially this morning when my company had a weekly meeting session in the office.

We had a speaker Samuel Lee, a consultant specialised in sales and marketing, who came to conduct a talk on the Psychology of Sales.

He handled us a set of questionnaire which the results could tell us more on how each of us are like as an individual. This questionnaire serves to let us understand more of our own individual self. The concept would be that one should learn more of our own personality type and how we could utilize this in our sales and how we can adapt to other people’s character type by knowing what sort of person they are.

Apparently, I am a 40% Driver and 40% Amiable, while 10% Analytical and 10% Expressive.

After a slight amendment to find out which would be my domineering trait, I found myself to be 45% Driver while Amiable dropped to 35%.

Drivers possesses the characteristics of eagles while Amiables are best represented as doves.

I find it to be true.

Like in my previous self-evaluation for a report, I had found myself to be an Accomodating person who in times of need, will step up and use a Competitive approach before settling down by using a Collaborative method to get things done.

One best example to show how this approach had brought in great results was during a semester when I was taking a module called Professional Issues. This module deals with many ethical and morale issules in a competitive corporate environment. Apparently, we have this weekly presentation sessions (for 10 weeks) where the class will be sorted out into different groups (different people every week) to discuss on a topic and present our views.

For about 8 weeks out of 10, my team scored A’s. The only other time where we did not score an A was when I wasn’t the one leading the group.

Just to side track a little, a team result is usually (or almost all of the time) dependant on the leader. If a team leader aims for a B, the team will almost definitely score a B regardless if another player is aiming for an A. The entire team would be working hard just to score the B. This was what had happened to one of the week when the team I was in did not score an A.

Back to topic.

I did learn much about myself today, knowing my weaknesses and strengths. I also did realise that I have to adapt to others quickly and that there’s no one formular that handles all people.

Oh yes, I did meet a couple of new friends today in the meeting. One of them was Kevin, who is an owner of a holding company in charge of a few securities companies. His credentials are rather impressive. In the early thirties and owns successful 2 businesses, and still finds time to take up a course that would make him a Certified Oracle Professional (or Specialist).

Another new person whom I met this morning calls himself Mr Lau. He had been dealing in the audio business for some time and had just made his switch to the exciting real estate line this morning.

One more guy who I got to know through the meeting is called Ivan. A PR in Singapore who just graduated from a university here and had would be starting his new career in this agency.

It’s good to know some new faces every now and then

In the dashboard’s blog stats, the graph kept going up and down. It was as though someone’s manipulating the market by buying abit, then the herd followed by buying more, making it shoot high up before some guy sold his share and cause a downward drop on another day.

Let’s make this like a stock market watch news

The Blog Stats for the WWW10 stock exchange (WWW10:BGST) hit it’s peak at 187 points on the 13th July, before a slight dip in the market the very next day, bringing it down to 167 points.

On the 15th July, the Blog Stats went further downhill to close at 103 points! Making this the largest drop in the WWW10 exchange since the meteoric rise from 63 to 131 points on the 9th and 10th this month.

The past two days saw a steady rise up the charts from 103 to 132 and then closing at 152 yesterday. The current trend would be that the BGST would close in around that level for the next few days. Market watchers do not predict another sudden fall in the shares for the following days till the weekend. The weekend may see a rise in the number of shares of possibly up to 200 points and above.

On the other hand, the Feed Stats (WWW10:FEED) has seen a steady increase in its shares for the past few days. It’s biggest rise came on the 13th to 14th of July where the points nearly doubled from 21 to 41 points. It went up continuously until closing at its current peak at 53 points yesterday.

Market experts say that the current bull market will continue for the following days, while reaching another huge jump during this weekend.

The FEED would be a good buy, especially when the risks are little and the returns are potentially high.

Didier Deschamps outlined his determination to return Juventus to their former glories after being presented as the club’s new coach on Saturday just hours after they were relegated to Serie B.

The Turin giants were the hardest hit of the four clubs implicated in the match-fixing trial and will start next season in the second tier with a 30-point deficit.

Even after demoted to Serie B with an uphill task before them, who else would choose to stay and fight with the team?

Let’s see if the fans would still support Juventus after this relegation.

Juventus, Lazio, and Fiorentina have been relegated from Serie A as a result of the match-fixing scandal.

AC Milan have avoided relegation, but will start next season with a 15-point deficit, and have had 44 points taken from their tally for the 2005-06 season.

Juventus have been stripped of their Serie A titles for each of the last two seasons. They will start next campaign with a 30-point deficit.

I need to finish up my final year project which is due a week (or two). The report is the one that’s remained uncompleted.

After the report, I would left one more presentation for the project before I could finally say that I can be free from all the school work.

That means, I would have to put off my current pet project – SaySomethinGood.com to a later date.

I still do need help in that though. Especially require people with great marketing skills, fund raising abilities, and also programming masters who are familiar of AJAX.
